The Academy was
formed to promote an often overlooked resource on Cape Cod the skills,
wit and wisdom of our retired population. It challenges its members to
explore new areas of interest in peer-directed learning groups and
provides them with an opportunity to maintain intellectual vigor in an
educationally supportive environment.
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
The opportunities for learning in the Academy are unlimited. By
attending the Academy classes you will meet others who are just as
interested as you are in living an active, and an intellectually
satisfying retirement on Cape Cod.
Many of the courses require a minimum of preparation but offer the
greatest opportunity for interaction and lively discussion. You can
stimulate both your mind and sprit with topics like:
MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Active participation is the cornerstone for building
the Academy for Lifelong Learning. Membership is more than a
privilege...it is a responsibility. Active participation means:

Taking courses

Serving on committees
·
Facilitating or leading study groups
Being an involved Academy member is important for
building membership, providing input to assure a wide variety of
interesting courses, and to achieve a smooth functioning organization. By
serving on various ALL committees you can help develop the curriculum,
contribute to the newsletter, help maintain membership records an process
registration applications and plan social
events.
